Terms and Conditions of service

Once the deposit has been received by Pask Brothers Ltd then the client is agreeing to the following terms and conditions:

Quotes – When we quote we try to be a accurate as possible with all our prices and to keep as close as possible the brief as discussed with the client. If it is not specifically mentioned in the quote then it is not included in the price and this assumption should not be made. Whilst every effort is made not to increase the price once it has been given as a written quote, the nature of building work means that not everything can be foreseen and it is sometimes necessary to add additional costs. This will always be discussed assuming the client is available. Labour and materials are normally quoted separately and if one price is given it should be assumed that it does not include materials unless specifically stated.

Condition of site - It is politely requested that clients clear the internal areas of all small personal items. We understand that it is difficult to move furniture and other larger items and if we are asked to move furniture every effort is made to do so carefully and without causing any damage, however no responsibility is accepted for any accidental damage caused whilst doing so.

Delays and cancellations - Due to the commitment of labour to projects, a minimum of 5 days notice is required if the start date is to be postponed by the client not including Saturday and Sundays. Changes within this time may be charged at a rate that reflects the number of trades and staff that are committed to the job. When cancelling a job we ask the client gives as much notice as possible but if the job is cancelled within 5 working days then client will forfeit the deposit.

Payment schedule and method – Once the client has requested Pask Brothers to undertake the work as laid out in the quote, a 25% deposit is requested and, where possible, this is to be at least 5 working days before the start date. The next 50% is requested at the halfway stage with a further 15% towards the end of the project. The final 10% is requested as soon as the project is satisfactorily concluded. Ideally this is in the form of bank transfer to our company account, details will be given when the quote is accepted.

Extras - Should any additional work be requested then this work will be charged as it is undertaken and should be paid for immediately in addition to the main work. When the work is charged the delay to the main work will be considered when costing.

Guarantee of our work - All our work is guaranteed for 18 months. Within this period any work that is deemed to be defective on survey will be corrected free of charge.

Materials - All work is carried out to our own high standards and unless otherwise stated Dulux, Ronseal and Toupret brands will be used in our painting contracts.

Windows and doors - Whilst every effort is made to make sure that all doors and windows still open and close as they do before the start of work, it is sometimes necessary to plane them in order to allow this to happen. This will be charged as an extra but it will be discussed with the client first. Please let us know if there are any sticking before the start of work as it saves time later.

New building work - When working on any new build, including basements and lofts, then the quality of carpentry and plaster is assumed to be of a professional standard. This is assumed when quoting and includes any quotes done from plans or drawing. If when coming to undertake the quoted work it may be necessary to add an extra cost if the work is not up to the required standards.
